Soft-tissue and tendon models
- In rodent models of tendon and ligament injury, researchers reported faster healing and better-organised collagen after BPC-157 administration (Cell and Tissue Research, 2019).
- The same review notes that these findings are from animal models and that human data are not available to confirm them.
Gastrointestinal models
- A 2025 literature and patent review in Pharmaceuticals summarised multiple animal studies reporting gastroprotective and anti-ulcer effects attributed to BPC-157.
- That review also states that no regulated clinical trial programme has established these effects in people.
Human data
- A 2021 case series in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine reported symptom improvement after intra-articular BPC-157 injection in patients with knee pain. A case series has no control group, so it cannot show cause and effect.
Strength of evidence: Preclinical evidence only
The overwhelming majority of published data are in rodents; the only human report located is a small uncontrolled case series, so efficacy and safety in people are unestablished.
What is published comes from cell and animal studies. Findings in those models frequently do not carry over to people.
Reported cautions and unknowns
- Because it has not been through a regulated clinical trial programme, no formal human safety or toxicology dataset exists (Pharmaceuticals, 2025).
- Reviewers flag that unregulated sourcing makes purity and actual content unverifiable, which confounds any reported outcome.
- Long-term effects, drug interactions, and — given the proposed angiogenic mechanism — any influence on existing tumours are described in the literature as unknown.

How do you reconstitute BPC-157?
A common starting point for a 5 mg vial of BPC-157 is 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, which gives 2.5 mg per mL. Aim the water down the inside wall of the vial, let it dissolve on its own, and roll gently instead of shaking. How many units of BPC-157 is one dose?
At 2.5 mg per mL, that works out to about 10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe for a 250 mcg dose. Change the vial size, water volume, or target dose in the calculator and the syringe reading updates with it. This is arithmetic, not a dosing recommendation.
What dosing schedule is reported for BPC-157?
