ARA-290

Cibinetide

ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide engineered from erythropoietin to keep its tissue-protective signalling without stimulating red-blood-cell production, and it has been tested in randomised human trials.

Strength of evidence: Limited human evidence

Unlike most compounds in this library, ARA-290 has published randomised human data — but sample sizes are small and it remains investigational rather than approved.

  • The 2015 trial reports that the molecule was specifically designed to avoid the red-blood-cell-raising effects of native erythropoietin, which was an intended safety improvement.

How do you reconstitute ARA-290?

A common starting point for a 10 mg vial of ARA-290 is 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, which gives 5 mg per mL. Aim the water down the inside wall of the vial, let it dissolve on its own, and roll gently instead of shaking. How many units of ARA-290 is one dose?
